InterGlobal, StudentCare Plus Insurance, and ISOS


Traveling overseas to study can be an exciting yet an unsettling experience.  For students' safety and peace of mind, all of PRC Study's Full Service Programs include InterGlobal "StudentCare Plus" Travel and Medical Insurance at no additional cost.  The insurance covers emergency medical and dental treatment, pro-rata return of program fee in case of curtailment, personal liability and more.

Also included is use of ISOS which provides access to medical advice and assistance 24 hours a day by foreign doctors who are located in Beijing and throughout China. For further details, please click on ISOS Medical Membership

Please also note that insurance is mandatory for all foreign students in China.  Therefore, please read the following information carefully to ensure that the insurance meets your needs and that you understand the materials. 

Note:  PRC Study does not provide insurance for students enrolled in the Tuition Only Programs.  Therefore, Tuition Only students are strongly advised to purchase their own insurance before coming to China, for as stated insurance is mandatory for all foreign students in China.

    InterGlobal provides two levels of cover depending on the amount of protection you require. All of PRC Study's full service program participants are provided with the "StudentCare Plus" insurance plan, which provides better coverage than the regular "StudentCare" plan. 

    The InterGlobal "StudentCare Plus" policy has been tailor-made for students who are studying overseas. This means InterGlobal has thought of everything you might need when studying in a foreign country to ensure your health is not a hassle, leaving you free to enjoy the reason you are abroad.

    The InterGlobal "StudentCare Plus" policy is underwritten by International Health Insurance in Denmark and has been rated by Standard & Poor's as an "A" International Insurer.

    The ratings from AA to CCC may be modified by the addition of Plus (+) or Minus (-) signs to show relative standing within the major rating categories.  Supported by these outstanding underwriters independently rated by Standard & Poor, you can be assured of the highest degree of financial stability when making a claim under InterGlobal's "Student Care Plus" policy.

    Key features of the "StudentCare Plus" insurance plan, includes the following: 

    Convenient Payment

    PRC Study will purchase the "StudentCare Plus" insurance for all full service program participants, so that students don't have to hassle with all the paper work.

    Medical Care

    The "StudentCare Plus" plan ensures you are covered for inpatient, outpatient and day care treatment in your country of study. If you suddenly get ill or find yourself in a hospital, you don't have to worry about paying for expensive treatments; rather, you can focus on getting well again.

    Medical Evacuation Cover

    In extreme circumstances you may need to be taken for treatment outside of China or removed for health reasons. If this happens, the "StudentCare Plus" Insurance will help you by taking care of the costly expenses involved and reduce your worries about treatment expenses.

    Travel Insurance


    As a student studying abroad you will have specialized needs. With your needs in mind, the "StudentCare Plus" plan includes travel insurance, so you don't have to purchase two separate policies.

    Loss of Tuition Fees


    Often it's not just the medical costs you have to worry about when you fall ill. The "StudentCare Plus" plan covers you for your tuition fees if due to unforeseen circumstances you have to cancel your course.

    StudentCare Plus Insurance Coverage

    The InterGlobal "StudentCare Plus" insurance policy provides coverage for:

    1. Medical Services, including doctors or specialists fees; public or private hospital services; pharmaceutical; ambulance services; physiotherapy; psychiatric care; rehabilitation; emergency dental treatment; and maternity services.
    1. Medical evacuation including repatriation; funeral expenses; family assistance / travel expenses; in hospital cash; hijack cash; and search and rescue.
    1. Advance Payments, Loss of Tuition Fees, as well as cancellation and additional expenses
    1. Personal Belongings including loss of money and replacement of documents
    1. Accidental Death or Disability
    1. Personal Liability
    1. False Arrest
    1. Travel Insurance which includes medical/dental emergency; medical evacuation; loss of luggage and personal effects; delayed luggage; loss of deposits and/or curtailment; travel delay; and missed connections.

    24 Hours Emergency Assistance

    InterGlobal has appointed First Assistance to administer all emergency assistance services and benefits of the "StudentCare Plus" insurance. You may contact First Assistance in an emergency 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Please note that no admission of liability is made or intended by the provision of assistance to you by First Assistance in circumstances where no cover is available under this insurance.

    Making a Claim

    In order to make a claim if something happens which is likely to lead to a claim you must:

    1. Immediately contact First Assistance or InterGlobal Ltd who will provide a claim form and information or directions in respect of settling your claim.
    2. Provide all information and details that InterGlobal may reasonably require. Original receipts are required for medical and hospital claims as well as any additional medical information that InterGlobal may require for cancellation and additional expense claims.
    3. In respect of personal liability claims, please request that the claim against you be put in writing. You must not make any offer promising payment without our approval.

    Payment of Claims
    1. InterGlobal will process your claim after receiving a completed claim form and all original receipts.  If InterGlobal needs additional information, a written request will be sent to you or your doctors or the medical provider.
    2. All claims will be paid by cheque and sent to your postal address or by electronic transfer to your nominated bank account.
    3. InterGlobal is under no obligation to settle your claim unless you provide the documentation InteGlobal considers relevant.
